What is are the stages of Sleep?

Science recognises three stages or phases of sleep and two distinct activity types. When you first lay down your head and drift off you're in phase 1.

Sleep Phase 1: Dozing

This is a short period of light sleep. Perhaps only 5 or 10 minutes.

Sleep Phase 1: Dozing
