Ups and downs

Tue 26/05/2026Back to work today. Still cooking in this heatwave and the AC unit is working overtime.Picked up a new story, I am a little familiar with the requirements but the story was missing some key details. This one was logged by a close friend who works on another team. We both started on the first line service desk and through our determination managed to get out of it. We worked together on a project of discovery, well, seeing what we can do within our respective fields regarding

Day three

Tue 2nd June 2026Today Im hunting for dinosaur footprints. They are apparently on the beach and are only visible at low tide. Im going to have to wait as the tide is against me this morning. That gives me time to visit the Dinosaur Isle Museum. Depending on how long I spend there I may have time to visit the Amazon World Zoo Park too. Low tide is about 6pm but if I get to Hanover Point around 4ish I should get a parking space.First stop, Dinosaur Museum. Its not the Natural

Journal Week 22, May 2026

On Monday, mum and I had our first puppy class, which was a two-hour theory class. Most of it, I already knew, but it was interesting nevertheless. Tuesday, mum and I took Koa to Germany, so he could get a new harnass. We found a beautiful one that fit, and thanks to a kind lady, I even got some discount on it! I went to physio, and then picked up Koa, to head back home. Wednesday and Thursday were more relaxing days. They were warm days, as the whole week has been rather warm, so we stayed inside a lot, and tried to keep cool. On Wednesday, Koa's new GPS tracker arrived, so I had some fun on Thurday, setting it all up. It was costly (the subscription I took for it), but I think it will be worth it. I hope to never need it for real, but should something happen, than at least I should be able to find my little dude. Friday was a busy day, with the vet and physio visits. Saturday, we tried to take it easy, as Sunday would be a busier day again, as it was my mum's b-day. Unfortunately, the pain in my lower back, and leg, didn't ease up a lot. And, on Sunday, I got another "ouch" to add to "the list". Ah well... A weather forecast infographic from "Weer & Radar" showing a 14-day weather trend for Herpen, dated May 25, 2026. The image features a blue background with a central white graph area containing two line charts: a top line with red dots for maximum temperatures and a bottom line with blue dots for minimum temperatures. The horizontal axis represents 14 consecutive days labeled by Dutch abbreviations, starting from Monday (Ma) and ending on Sunday (Zo) two weeks later. The weekend days (Za and Zo) are highlighted with subtle light-blue vertical background columns.Below the main graph, a horizontal bar of 14 colored squares indicates sunshine levels (ranging from bright yellow for "veel" / much, to pale beige for "weinig" / little), with rain icon droplets on specific days.Header InformationMain Title: 14-daagse verwachting (14-day forecast)Location: HerpenDate: 25 mei 2026Temperature Graph Data (Day 1 to Day 14)Day 1 (Ma - Monday, May 25): Max 28C, Min 12C. We made it to Friday

Fri 22nd May 2026As I type this Im in the pub. It has been one of those weeks. Im sure alcohol will help.. well. maybe not but the momentary escape from reality is welcome, and we are in a heatwave! We are talking late 20s with 30 forecast for the weekend! I need to take cover! This morning after the daily call I carried on tweaking the report Id created for the ever absent user. A senior colleague had a meeting with them earlier in the week and their issue was discussed.

Time to get a Chine on

Mon 1st June 2026Day two of my holiday starts early. Waking up at 5am due to how warm it was in my room. The bed was comfortable enough but the duvet was a thick winter tog, not good for this time of year but I cant expect the hotel to swap all the duvets in all the rooms, oh and its not technically a hotel, its a very nice b&b.Breakfast is from 8.30 to 9.30, with 7 rooms from what I can work out an hour is plenty of time. And what a lovely breakfast it was. Full English

Feeling reflective

Thu 21st May 2026Been feeling a little bit lost and out of my depth at work over the past few days, not sure exactly why. I think some of the stuff that Ive been looking at and picking up I know theyre beyond me at the moment and Im still trying to get my head around stuff about how records relate to records and tables and how everything to connect and where stuff is and how to find different things and navigate around the platform, everything basically. Im just feeling

Its a small world

Sat 30th MayFirst day of my holiday, Im in the pub. Its quiet and the air con is on. I think I need something refreshing so I decide on a raspberry peach sour, its a smoothie style so should be nice and cooling. Unfortunately theres an issue while pouring it, all the sediment has settled, the barmaid got a half out of it but it wasnt really drinkable.Im still thinking I need something refreshing so the barmaid suggested another smoothie sour in a can, it has pineapple,

Okay how is sitting down for 5 minutes the same as an hour

Right, next task please... Oh joy! transfer garbage from bins to wheelie & food waste from caddy to bin... so I can put them out.
I am grateful the task after that is, - Shower.

Not a productive day

Wed 20th May 2026I've been a little distracted at work today. With my sister being rushed to A&E yesterday I've been waiting for updates. She is awake and aware of everything now but still in a little pain. A CT scan revealed she apparently had something called a tonic clonic seizure and a stroke. She had an MRI this afternoon and is scheduled for a lumbar puncture then we wait for the results. At the moment it seems there's no lasting effects which is good. This could be credit to the
