Presence November Tales

Okay. So yesterday I was talking about Presence. It is so so important to have really. You never knew whose life you'll change unknowingly. Some returns are never known. Being present for someone without projecting a sense of urgency of what you want or so on is kind. - maybe a urgency to get a date etc - is overwhelming and one sometimes can't give a time when lots of things in personal life are going up and down. So just being present and checking in often is something one could remember

That's cool I made it in episode 312, 313, 314 and.. tonight 316. My music finds itself broadcast alongside legends of the genre such as Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream... to name just a few.

Work, work, work.. and work even more.. Don't stop to believe!

November 19ths: I was reminded of an article that was published in Billboard magazine in 1994 when Sting spoke at Berklee after he got his doctorate, titled The Mystery and Religion Of Music. In essence, what he was saying was that music is a daily constitution or daily prayer. Its a devotion to something that is very meaningful. Ive always considered music a kind of spirituality or religion.

I always thought that music was magic, that it was a kind of magic.

"A printed diary held out the promise of total control over time, place and the self."

Elena Mary for Aeon:

Most people keep a diary to record their days.
I write in mine to send messages to my future self,
and I look back on past entries to see how much Ive grown from who I used to be.

A yellow electric guitar a joyful and cheerful guitar!

I have a beautiful yellow guitar. So sunny. A sunny guitar, as I call it. Unfortunately, I don't know the model of this guitar. But it's a great instrument. For a start, for learning and practicing music. Exactly what I need

There is a thing I am doing this November halfway through inspo kick -

Journal Week 46, November 2025

It's been quite a week. On Monday, I had the appointment with the tax office. Then I took Sir Little Noise (aka Bas) home, as my parents would go out for a while. Bas would stay with me until Tuesday morning, when I brought him home before my physio appointment. On Wednesday, I tried to relax a bit. Thursday started as usual and had a little different ending. The next three days, I tried to take it easy. Friday's physio had been rescheduled to Thursday. In the weekend, I did manage to get the grass mats out into the garden. I wish my garden was more "smooth", but I am trying to accept that: this is as good as I can get it with the means available to me. The weather is going in all directions this week, or so it seems... Hopefully, it will be in a good way when I need to be out and about. Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

(Blog Updated) Week 30: We know what this is really about

Just noticed Firefox was guzzling around 750MB when opening Apple Music page. This led me down a rabbit hole of building a custom music client and its so bad.

1. You need Apple developer account (99USD/year) for API access.
2. Linux is not a native target meaning having to use MusicKit JS library with Electron, GtkWebKit or QtWebEngine.
3. Legal issues.

Spotify is such a saint in terms of third-party client support. Also, I have Amazon Prime which gets me Amazon Music but I don't know if they provide APIs for building third-party clients.

This is such a f-ing mess!!

Journal Week 45, November 2025

A mixed week... On Monday, Soosh got her new tyres and then we headed back home from Almere. Tuesday, it was 4 months since Arwen's passing... On Wednesday, a friend came to visit in the morning. Thursday was the usual Germany groceries day. Friday brought a visit to the dentist, which didn't go as smoothly as hoped for. On Saturday and Sunday, I tried to get my chores in and I also tried to focus on my exercises some more. I enjoyed working on my puzzle as well, eager to try and get it ready... Already thinking about other puzzles that I would like to make (and possibly frame). It looks like we could be getting some decent weather, which would be nice for a change... Fingers crossed and all that, as decent weather can also mean a little less discomfort in my body... Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

I have a dedicated for train of thought and mental health writing, but atm I'm not using it as much as I used to.
I seem to lack the intrinsic need I used to feel. Change is part of life, so that's perfectly fine.
But.

My quest remains: to identify the non-Google and unenshittified tools that my theatre group needs to manage its , crunch , share and , and organise itself without feeding the beast a moment longer.

Quote of the day, 9 November: St. Teresa of the Andes

I am reading Elizabeth of the Holy Trinity. I love her. Her soul is similar to mine. Although she was a saint, I will imitate her and be a saint. I want to live with Jesus in the depths of my soul. I want to defend him from his enemies.

I want to live a life of Heaven, as Elizabeth says, being a praise of glory:

  1. Living a divine life. Loving with a pure love of God. Giving myself to Him without reserve. Living in an intimate communion with the Spouse of my soul.
  2. By fulfilling Gods will in everything. How By fulfilling my duty at every moment, with joy. Nothing should disturb me. All must be peace, like that which floods the angels in heaven.
  3. Living in silence for thus the Holy Spirit will bring forth harmonious sounds and the Father, together with the Spirit, will form in me the image of the Word.
  4. Suffering, since Christ suffered all His life and was the praise of His Fathers glory. I will suffer with joy for my sins and for sinners.
  5. Living a life of faith. Looking at everything from the supernatural point of view. Reflecting Christ in our actions like a mirror.
  6. Living in a continuous thanksgiving: may our thoughts, desires and acts be a perpetual thanksgiving.
  7. Living in continuous worship, like the angels repeating: Sanctus, sanctus, etc. And since we cannot constantly be in prayer, at least before each exercise renew the intention, and thus we shall be a praise of glory and live a life of Heaven. Moreover, we must become more inflamed in the zeal of divine glory.

I simply backed up my existing configuration using web UI, downloaded the sysupgrade image and flashed it (using web UI)

Lastly, when it restarts, restore the configuration.

Looking at videos of famous people educates me about people and humanity.

In these difficult times let's see if that leads to anything good.

The other day I looked at Paul Shaffer, who was with David Letterman.

Journal Week 44, October/November 2025

On Monday, two men came and they finished up the last work on the heat pump. Hopefully, this will mean an end to the long lasting saga, and that I will be able to keep a warm home without paying way too much for it... Fingers crossed and all that. Tuesday was PT day. But some "inconvenience" on the road turned out to be an annoyingly long detour... I managed to shower Skoosh, get a good physio session, and get some groceries at Lidl on the way back. Wednesday, I tried to take it easy. I did tackle a chore that I had been meaning to do for a while. And, I went out to vote. On Thursday, mum and I went to Germany again. Friday, I tried to take it easy, but my brain wasn't all into that... Saturday, I drove to friends and I stayed there till Monday. Saturday on Sunday, I got the worst nightmare, that prompted me to write a very sad blog post about it. I caught up on sleep the next night, but I am not sure it really did me a lot of good... Colder days, colder nights, and a lot of wetness is showing in this forecast for the next two weeks... The days for this week show rain, and a lot of rain, for 6 out of the 7 days... Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
