Journal Week 17 , April 2026

What a week!!! The last countdown, the final preparations, until Koa came to his new home on Wednesday! On Monday, I tried to clean up some more, make sure things were being more secure, so Koa would not be able to damage anything, or himself, in an unexpected moment. On Tuesday, my PT worked very hard to try and loosen up my very sore shoulder and breast muscles. And then... The countdown ended, and it was Koa day! A very busy day, with a lot of good things. But, at the end of the afternoon, both Koa and I were exbausted. So we grabbed many little naps when we could. Thursday, was our first real day together. Loads of new impressions. We did our best to make it a good day. My body was sore, and I was tired as heck, but I was so happy wity Koa... Thursday was a great day, very exhausting, very challenging at times, but to see this little bundle of love in my home... In our home... We tried to get into a routine a bit, I did my best to learn more about him, and it ended with another night on the old couch. Friday, we learned some more... He was doing a great job, while I was worrying a lot if I was doing the job right... In the evening, mum was able to pick up a smaller crate at Joke's place, which meant: sleeping in my bed! Koa wasn't too amused with the changes, but in the end, we did manage to get some hours of sleep in. Saturday, we got our first visitors, and I don't know who loved it more... Koa or Timmy... Yolande came for a short visit on Sunday. And that's how we ended week 17... Tired, a bit insecure at times, but so full of love for my little dude. TL:DR
- Restored display shelves to old position
- Setup small crates in their place as bedside unit.
- Works much better.
- Messed with clock, bedside lamp & the cables powering them
- Freed up phone charging cable.
- Me very happy but why did it take so long

Restored dsplay shelves that I was using as a bedside unit to their previous place & use as it wasn't quite working.
Then spent far too long messing with the small-ish wooden crates I ordered to make them nto a useful bedside unit. Using cable ties to lock them together how I want. My alarm clock is now at the perfect height for me to see it's whole display . No more propping myself up awkwardly to check the status of the second alarm .

All in all very happy with how the new setup works. Even rejigged the power connections for the clock & bedside lamp, which now uses the phone charging socket on the back of the clock, freeing up my original phone charging cable as the charge out of the clock is too low to charge the phone over night .

As usual, this took considerably longer than planned & now I'm slowing myself down some more on here .

Right, has anyone seen my skates

Yet, only gets threats and insults.

Fuck off.

Plus, I don't want american diaries full of antibiotics and weird shit here.

Temperature:
Not nearly warm enough. I need scorching heat!
Bubbles:
Shampoo, specifically Pantene Pro V. The epsom salts make them flatter.
Epsom Salts:
Absolutely! Cleaned all day and need them!
Mood:
I'm in and out, hopefully the bath will help. Was supposed to get to see the youngest tomorrow and now that might not happen and shaking it off isn't being easy.

Journal Week 16, April 2026

Another week, slowly getting closer to the day where Koa will come home! Monday was a quiet day. A quick visit to the store, and I tried to mop the floors, which felt like running a marathon! Tuesday, I headed to a store I had never heard of before, to pick up a free puppy package, and of course I got some toys there for Koa, before I headed to physio. My PT made an echo of my hip area, to check out what's causing the issues I'm still experiencing. On Wednesday, I tried to take it easy. But I did manage some preparations for the upcoming garden work on Friday. Thursday was business as usual, with me taking my mum to Germany for groceries and such. Friday was a very busy day! Eva and I worked hard in the back garden, even though my left shoulder was doing all it could to make the work more painful than it should have been. And of course, we ended the day with puppies! So that's an amazing way to end a hard-worked day. I tried to take it easy on Saturday, as everything hurt. And on top of that, my GP had decided to lower my painkiller dosage by a lot, without discussing it. So that really angered me, as we already got it down so much, but the bits I still use, I really need to get through the days. Especially now my hand is more painful... On Sunday I tried to prepare the house some more for the coming of the fluffy piranha... Bit by bit, trying to secure as much as I can... Wow!
Made it into the outdoors (not to be confused with the great outdoors that is away from the urban jungle, or whatever people call it these days) .

Feels good to have finally dumped a load of oversized cardboard & dead or dying electricals at the tip (where everything is sorted for possible recycling) Only taken me 2 months ... .

Combined that with a shopping trip which, during planning started as, get a few things & petrol from supermarket A but ended up in a big shop across supermarkets A, B & C.

Got home, unpacked, got back into loafing gear & had a late lunch (I still can't get the hang of mornings ) before tackling some bathroom cleaning I'd been putting off & fixed the WC seat as it was getting close to, (channelling Scotty for Star Trek:) 'she caen'a take no mar Capta'n!'. It's resecured & the new countdown to becoming un/insecure can begin.

As the saying goes, strike while you still have hold of that last ruddy spoon.

Feeling pretty good about getting that lot done. Would have liked to have done it 2 or 3 hours earlier but for now I'm happy with it.

Off to do a bit of reading before grabbing some tea, just have to resist grabbing some nibbles until then .

Diary of An Emering Queen by Gwendolyn Law

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/iRUWTgZDN50https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GC9P46CSA journey through diary entries as a queen begins emerging. The possibilities are endless when you write things down and look back in a month's time and see changes towards healing, dreams, goals, the healthy grocery list you made, or the list of to do things each day that helps calm chaos and anxiety by giving you a release outlet. Diary entries were my first suggested therapy coping mechanism and this is where
