Journal Week 6, February 2026
A very busy and long Monday, followed by another busy and long Tuesday... I knew this was going to be a long, and very busy, week, and I hoped that I could keep it up, and that I could relax during the weekend... As next week will also be a very busy one... I did manage to get some chores done, helped my parents best I could, and I even took little Bas to the woods on Sunday. It's defnitely still winter, and I guess we're getting all sorts of weather, according to this forecast of Monday night... Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.Breath - In color

Now I thought that it helps me to continue things if I can talk about them with other people so I thought I use my Tumblr blog for another try with a diary

Todays is a bright, frosty morning, perfect for writing. Sol, already near its zenith, is about to turn around the corner of the house, and for a couple hours the garden and my desk will be lit by the subdued colours of a clear winter sky. Small patches of frost-free grass appear along the hedge... Characters and scenes are slowly falling into place, the

Journal Week 5, January/February 2026
Monday started out OK. I got some writing for my blog done, took mum grocery shopping, went to the hardware store with dad, and my wool got sheared, so my scalp feels good again... Tuesday, I had my physio appointment. And SmartThings told me that Bas had been a loud boy while I was out. On Wednesday, Bas and I went to the Herperduin with a good friend and her dog, where we enjoyed a nice, good walk. Thursday, there was damned snow! But, I got mum and myself to Germany for groceries, and back again, safe and sound, and then, fortunately, the snow slowly started to sod off again. Friday, physio again, and Bas being a loud boy again... On Saturday, Bas and I visited the Herperduin again with our friend and her dog, so he got another nice SniffiVerse walk. On Sunday, we took it easy. Just a few little chores, and the rest was spent working on my blog, reading, and watching telly, snuggled up with Bas on the couch. Gray days, some rain, some cold... Although, after I got this forecast, it changed again with some different temperatures, and showing some snow instead of rain... Ow, please, let it be rain and not snow... Buongiorno. Lucia is now going to Capri for a week for a cure. But that's not for me. I'd rather turn up the collar of my coat and cruise around Venice. Saluti, Mafalda Cinquetti from

On 8 May 2025, the world marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The Allied victory brought an end to Adolf Hitler's 12-year rule. Journal entries from Hitler's supporters and opponents offer insight into life in .
This four-part documentary series centers on eight individuals and their families. Each kept a recording their daily lives, experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Illustrations accompany the entries to bring them to life, giving these sequences the look of a graphic novel.
The eight diarists lived scattered across Germany. They came from different socioeconomic backgrounds, religions, and factions. Some become fervent supporters of the Nazi regime, others opposed it, and some were marginalized or persecuted. Several of the journal span the entire 12 years of 's rule. But some fall silent after a given time. "Hitler's Reich - A German Journal" features no expert testimonies instead, the stand alone, as personal records of the time in which they were written.
In the entries, we find descriptions of moments of happiness, youth, dance lessons, longing and love but also of the first - still hesitant - Nazi salute, surveillance, "Aryan certificates," hunger, and the threat of deportation. They capture a time when many looked the other way, remained silent, or became complicit. They speak of what it felt like when the war "came home," the fear of nights spent in bunkers, and the hope of survival. The diarists wrote with the urgency of the present, not knowing what tomorrow would bring. Their stories reflect the rise, reign, and eventual downfall of the Nazi regime.

Buongiorno. Since this weekend, we've been celebrating Carnival again. When I was young, it wasn't such a big deal. But the rat is very well done, isn't it Saluti, Mafalda Cinquetti from
