Fri 22nd May 2026As I type this Im in the pub. It has been one of those weeks. Im sure alcohol will help.. well. maybe not but the momentary escape from reality is welcome, and we are in a heatwave! We are talking late 20s with 30 forecast for the weekend! I need to take cover!This morning after the daily call I carried on tweaking the report Id created for the ever absent user. Mon 1st June 2026Day two of my holiday starts early. Waking up at 5am due to how warm it was in my room. The bed was comfortable enough but the duvet was a thick winter tog, not good for this time of year but I cant expect the hotel to swap all the duvets in all the rooms, oh and its not technically a hotel, its a very nice b&b.Breakfast is from 8.30 to 9.30, with 7 rooms from what I can work out an hour is plenty of time. Thu 21st May 2026Been feeling a little bit lost and out of my depth at work over the past few days, not sure exactly why. I think some of the stuff that Ive been looking at and picking up I know theyre beyond me at the moment and Im still trying to get my head around stuff about how records relate to records and tables and how everything to connect and where stuff is and how to find different things and navigate around the platform, everything basically. Sat 30th MayFirst day of my holiday, Im in the pub. Its quiet and the air con is on. I think I need something refreshing so I decide on a raspberry peach sour, its a smoothie style so should be nice and cooling. Unfortunately theres an issue while pouring it, all the sediment has settled, the barmaid got a half out of it but it wasnt really drinkable.Im still thinking I need something refreshing so the barmaid suggested another smoothie sour in a can, it has pineapple,Okay how is sitting down for 5 minutes the same as an hour
Right, next task please... Oh joy! transfer garbage from bins to wheelie & food waste from caddy to bin... so I can put them out.

Not a productive day
Wed 20th May 2026I've been a little distracted at work today. With my sister being rushed to A&E yesterday I've been waiting for updates. She is awake and aware of everything now but still in a little pain. A CT scan revealed she apparently had something called a tonic clonic seizure and a stroke. She had an MRI this afternoon and is scheduled for a lumbar puncture then we wait for the results. At the moment it seems there's no lasting effects which is good. This could be credit to theroadtrip east coast 9

Tue 19th May 2026Getting feedback from users on previous work is always helpful. But when they reject your resolution your heart sinks.This morning I was met with such an email. To be fair I'd met the users requirements but apparently they didn't like what they got so rejection it was. This was from the user who had a database view built for them to accommodate their reporting needs. This wasn't good enough for them as the report was still missing values and as they don't have access toBuongiorno. I thought I'd get home quicker if I got off at Giardini. Diary of a furry piranha
Just for fun, I decided to share a diary toot on Mastodon, written from Koa's perspective a little while ago. I liked it a lot, as it was silly, but also maybe a bit less "boring" than my journal toots, as it was more playful, due to Koa still being a puppy. As I set the toots to "followers only", I can't directly link them in this post, like I often do with my book posts, and such. So, I tried to copy and paste the texts into this post. Some are a bit older entries, as I had already scheduled a few other blog posts to be shared here first. I hope I can add some more diary/journal entries for Koa, as it was fun to write the first one. With AI's help, I changed my own journal image, that I use for my own diary/journal entries every Tuesday, and its now adapted to Young Master Koa... Mon 18th May 2026After the usual Monday morning meeting I got ready for another one. I built four new cat items for a user and amended a record producer. It was during this prep I discovered an issue. Apparently there has been a duplication of a record producer and both were live in the portal. No one has noticed for no idea how long. Retail therapy
Sat 16th May 2026After our usual Saturday brekker I had to take my car to the carwash. The labourer/gardener guy the landlord has hired still hasn't reappeared. There are signs of his impending return so I live in hope. For now I'm still parking up the road under a tree which is dropping crap and bird shit on my car. I don't want to ruin the paintwork as I'm going to be selling it in the near future, so a trip to the carwash was needed.
